A Caveat

All the Posts in this blog, are some of my Random scribbles of thoughts, observations and some perspectives. These are not conventional and structured Poems, which follow a specific Metre or Structures. In fact these are not built into any prescribed flow of poetic construction or follow any popular rules of rhythm and rhyme . But they are free flowing thoughts which struck me at that point of time, and i just wrote them as it organically rose in me. My request is to identify with the idea/concept and the truth behind these Randoms Scribbles rather than judging them on conventional grammar of poetry. Have Faith ; Rewards will follow...

Pause and Reflect

When you are busy going nowhere, with a whole carnival of boisterous noises inside your head. I feel myself trying to pause and stop by the wayside, and my inner Me whispers that I shouldn’t. Golden Thrones are not won by pausing to reflect. Run and Fight you must. Once I sit on the Throne, I can let go of this constant need to reach out and grab. Can i pause and reflect then.? Maybe. Nobody ever remembers the ones who stop and step aside. The ones who let go of the turning wheels. The ones who yearned for wasted days in pursuit of a mirage. Everyone is running and tearing down in their own lanes of presumed importance. With a complete disregard to the orderly march, to the magic of walking in silence. No, when you are running the race, you don’t take no prisoners. Every small pebbles in your way, you need to blow away with cannons of greed and ambition. Every milestone is just another direction mark, which tells you the way to the next Golden Throne. But I am contented to find just one comfortable chair, for me to sit and ponder. The foolishness and the mindless rush to the final pause and reflection. Have Faith ; Rewards will follow...

Wendell’s Dream

Wired and charged as we move towards the spotlight, Wendell chokes on the fumes from the gutter. As we near towards the unruly crowd, ready to be jostled and pulled, I look back at Wendell and wonder. What does he know, that I don’t? Why is he not with us as we take the stage, as we brace the crowd, I ponder. Looking back to that day, now I know why not. Everything is so obvious when it dawns on hindsight. As we sat in silence near the glistening pond in the afternoon sun, Wendell whispered the reason for his reluctance. He had a moment of vision, which clearly showed him the futility of the spot in the sun or his role in the stage of life. While we all played our worn-out, badly written script in that drama, Wendell knew the course of the story. He knew how it all ended. He could see that there was no anti-climax, no twist in the plot but just a relentless drone of the hum of the life machine. Which was a little too loud, for a background score of the play. He saw the active indifference in the eyes and the body language of the actors, as the drama unfolded. I knew not, the entire script. Each scene unfolded to me in a quiet, disarming way and sometimes it landed on my head with a force of a sledgehammer. I prayed for the end. I was not enjoying my role in the play of life. But Wendell stood by the curtains and smiled his beguiling smile. As if he knew the secret within. I wished he would share the entire script with me. I implored thru my eyes, he just nodded and kept on smiling. “You need a vision, mate. I can’t help you. I have forgotten what I saw. But I saw what I saw” He quietly whispered to me from the wings. I cannot be bothered to understand his convoluted reply. I now pray for the Vision to come to me. So that I can quit the play and stand in the wings and smile at the unsuspecting actors on the stage. Have Faith ; Rewards will follow...

Whatever you want to be

Buried under the chaos of my closet of dreams Lies the mask that I adorned, in my past life. Or maybe I am still wearing it currently? It’s hard to tell The real from the pretend. The mask allows me the liberty to be someone whom I always wanted to be. Carefree, Dangerous, Charming and Cavalier. Laughter and Romance comes naturally to me. Widely imitated but never replicated. That is me when I adorn the mask. But when the curtain draws and the lights dim When the crowd disperses in the darkness of the night, I crawl my way back into my skin. Tired, submissive and hungry for a few pats. Not unlike a pitiful puppy, who is caught in a thunderstorm and is quivering for a warm and hot blanket. Why can’t the Mask permeate down to my skin? Take roots in my gut and spine? But what if I can’t ever remove the Mask? What if I become the Mask? Will I be a complete stranger to the mirror? Will I recognize my own skin, my confident eyes and my gruff voice? Some people are cursed to lead the life that they always dreamed about. They are made to walk the roads that they longed to follow. They lead the crowd that they always wanted to. Watch out for what you wish in your dreams. Sometimes they do come true.

The Art of Comprehending

“Most readers come away from their reading not with a clear, precise, detailed registration of its contents on their minds, but rather with a vague, misty idea which was formed as much by the pace, the proportions, the music of the writings as by the literal words themselves.” - Bill Bernbach

The Rearview Mirror

Trying not to glance at the Rearview mirror. While the snow flakes makes love to the windscreen, the wiper swipes it clean. Snowdust covered roads welcomes me to tomorrow. I smile at the comfortable cruising sounds of a well fed motor. It is humming a quiet tune and serenades the new peace that I found. Happy that the journey is a joy once more and I don’t need to look at the Rearview mirror again. Rejoicing the here and now, and killing my fear of past deeds done. Ready to Welcome tomorrow.

Moving on

Try as I might to erase, it’s an exercise in futility. Run as I might from the chaos, it echoes within. Its never easy as they might seem to suggest. It’s not all gone with a wink and a wave. It resides in your entrails and squeezes the life out of your blue black lungs. I tried so much in vain, to sail smoothly in the sea of forgiveness. Gently flapping my wings of goodwill in the skies of violet bygones. Again it’s not easy as it seems. I might tune in to a higher frequency of a cosmic transmitter. And take baby steps on learning to forget and forgive. But I have been told that these higher and noble principles take time. It takes time for them to grow and take root in your soul. Perhaps not in this lifetime. Perhaps never. But as it is said, try to do a noble deed and see how quickly it forms a habit. As I continue in the search of this higher call, I am forced to cogitate on the folly of my ways.

The Fashionistas

Screaming posters announce the arrival of the new collection, Of the oncoming spring, of the exaggerated exuberance and frivolity. Itchy fingers with packed wallets, dazzled eyes with greedy faces, Drop their tattered Cards at the counter. The season of being talk-of-the-town has arrived. Who else is ready for fawning attention and looks of envious admiration? Do you know that innocent lambs are slaughtered for the shawls and scarves? Do you think I care? I am busy with planning my calendar of cocktail parties for the spring season. Discounts and rebates are for the fringes of the society, for the untutored. The trends of Paris will storm the town and guess who will be toast of the Effiel? The collections are sublime, I hear. The cut and fit exquisite. The prices, well talk to my assistant about the bills. The World where Fantasy and Fashion are soul sisters. Is too much to expect a reality check here? Seasons come and Seasons go…Spring gives way to the Summer collection. By the way the Winter collection was a complete let down. But the cocktail parties and the shoot sessions among the snow was the highlight of the season. We believe in the form and not the content. The sizzle and not the steak. Wait for the opening night of the Spring season. I will sizzle in all my splendor and form.

Container

I was screaming into the canyon At the moment of my death The echo I created Outlasted my last breath My voice it made an avalanche And buried a man I never knew And when he died his widowed bride Met your daddy and they made you I have only one thing to do and that's Be the wave that I am and then Sink back into the ocean I have only one thing to do and that's Be the wave that I am and then Sink back into the ocean I have only one thing to do and that's Be the wave that I am and then Sink back into the ocean

Are you being served?

What customers want and what businesses think they want are often two different things. Here’s what customers are looking for. Anyone who has gotten an unsolicited and irrelevant offer related to something they’ve done online knows that creepy feeling that someone is watching me. This kind of reaction is the third rail of today’s drive to personalize interactions with customers. To better understand what customers really value, we asked 60 shoppers to create mobile diaries of their personalized interactions with various brands over two weeks. With over 2,000 entries in total, we were able to see what kind of personalized communication works for customers and what doesn’t. 1. Give me relevant recommendations I wouldn’t have thought of myself. 2. Talk to me when I’m in shopping mode. 3. Remind me of things I want to know but might not be keeping track of. 4. Know me no matter where I interact with you. 5. Share the value in a way that’s meaningful to me.

Picture This

Welcome to the future of insurance, as seen through the eyes of Srikanth, a customer in the year 2030. His digital personal assistant orders him an autonomous vehicle for a meeting across town. Upon hopping into the arriving car, Srikanth decides he wants to drive today and moves the car into “active” mode. Srikanth’s personal assistant maps out a potential route and shares it with his mobility insurer, which immediately responds with an alternate route that has a much lower likelihood of accidents and auto damage as well as the calculated adjustment to his monthly premium. Srikanth’s assistant notifies him that his mobility insurance premium will increase by 4 to 8 percent based on the route he selects and the volume and distribution of other cars on the road. It also alerts him that his life insurance policy, which is now priced on a “pay-as-you-live” basis, will increase by 2 percent for this quarter. The additional amounts are automatically debited from his bank account. When Srikanth pulls into his destination’s parking lot, his car bumps into one of several parking signs. As soon as the car stops moving, its internal diagnostics determine the extent of the damage. His personal assistant instructs him to take three pictures of the front right bumper area and two of the surroundings. By the time Srikanth gets back to the driver’s seat, the screen on the dash informs him of the damage, confirms the claim has been approved, and that a mobile response drone has been dispatched to the lot for inspection. If the vehicle is drivable, it may be directed to the nearest in-network garage for repair after a replacement vehicle arrives. While this scenario may seem beyond the horizon, such integrated user stories will emerge across all lines of insurance with increasing frequency over the next decade. In fact, all the technologies required above already exist, and many are available to consumers. With the new wave of deep learning techniques, such as convolutional neural networks,1artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to live up to its promise of mimicking the perception, reasoning, learning, and problem solving of the human mind. In this evolution, insurance will shift from its current state of “detect and repair” to “predict and prevent,” transforming every aspect of the industry in the process. The pace of change will also accelerate as brokers, consumers, financial intermediaries, insurers, and suppliers become more adept at using advanced technologies to enhance decision making and productivity, lower costs, and optimize the customer experience.

Devil’s Dance

Let the curtain rise, on the Dance of the Devil in the sea. Let the waves rise and flood the hallowed halls. Let the roar of thousand winds drown out the screams. Those very screams of terror, of the people who filled the room. They had innocently come to watch the play. Perhaps they may also see the Devil make a fool of himself. They came prepared to be entertained. But now they are being washed away. Stage stands broken and ripped to million pieces. The Crowd cowers behind their seats, silently praying to the absentee God. Meanwhile Devil continues his demonic dance, swirling mud, blood and waves of oceans all around. Trembling lips, hurriedly vomits out prayers for mercy and deliverance. The curtain stays up, the chaos and madness doesn’t seem to stop. The performance was supposed to be for 2 hours. Now it is almost 2 years, and it still rages on. Let the brave men from the crowd bring the curtain down. Bring the show to a stop. Haul away the Devil to the backstage and gag him. But no one dares. They all tremble in an impotent fear. Suddenly as it began, the madness stops. The Devil is tired of his silly dance and the screams of the people that he terrorized. He is bored of the one-sided dominance of the stage. He would have loved a good resistance and fight. He would have wanted someone to take up the challenge. But they all are busy running for their lives. The Devil pulls the curtain down and the show stops. Tomorrow the Devil will dance his chaos in some other stage, in some other town. Today was Syria, tomorrow who knows where he will be?

Travelling Light

Let the void embrace the promise. Time for you to be disenchanted with the outcome. Prayers and bargains that is in your heart, needs to be forgotten. Try to remember what you used to be, before you took your form. Tornadoes of your voices and thoughts have generated, the person you have become. Surfing on top of the waves of life, you are just a speck of dust. Be still and comprehend. That you are a force of energy. Your journey is not this. Only in form and image, you do not exist. See through the haze of smoke that lies before you. You will realise that, you are just a travelling light. On and On through eons, we have blazed across the cosmic sky. We have gathered nothing. Nothing have we lost. You are part of the Cosmic desert storm. Just a dust in the Storm.

SuperBlueBloodMoon

Universe is getting ready to put on a great celestial show. The Cosmos is ready and wired to bring us the grandeur and the mystery in our skies. The human mind can't comprehend the magic and its mystique. The logical and mechanical mind dissect the Wonder in the rulebook and framework of a structured thesis. The Universe smiles, a smile of condescense. But sometimes we need to acknowledge the Superior presence. Not question it. Not frame it in millions of logical and clinical explanations. The Wonder and the mystique is lost on humans. Thousands click the celestial show on their mobile phones, not forgetting to add filters of self importance. But the Universe goes on with its show from the Dawn of time to its end. The Wonder and the magic is witnessed by the Cosmos with a thunderous applause. The multitudes of beings on Planet Earth rush to their timelines to Post their moment with SuperBlueBloodMoon. Wondering how many likes and retweets it will get?

The Dandelion

Fragile and beautiful, it seemed to caress the wind. It danced in rhythm to the rush of the breeze and smiled at the sun. It was God's perfect plan and seemed perfect in its contentment. Suddenly it was yanked from its Mother plant and hot stinky breath blew away its soul. The flower scattered and it merged with the random dusts in the wind. It dissolved into nothingness. Its form merged into the big nothingness. The hand that yanked it away from its Mother, felt proud and danced with joy. The Dandelion ceased to exist in a heartbeat of a second. Look around you, What are we? But fragile and delicate Dandelions. We are planted on this Earth. We dance and sway with the Winds of time. We bask in the Sunlight. We seem happy and contented. But all it needs a moment. To remind us of how non consequential and fragile are we.

Roller Coaster

The Ride never ends. Sometimes it changes its name and venues, but it continues on with the same carnival. It's just the same. Riding on its hard metallic tracks with its constant tattle and pounding. No one is complaining. Sounds of laughter and screams of orgasmic delight torture the air. Those Sweet summer afternoons spent on the ride in the roller coaster. We didn't want it to stop, inspite of a dizzy head, painful stomachs and the remains of the un-digested lunch on the seat of the car. After the ride stops, there are some who fall faint to the ground, with a black thundering headache. Gosh that was fun! After all that, we still want to ride. We still queue up to buy tickets, for an another ride on the monster. Is it the excitement of pain, fear and almost plummeling to your death, that attracts us? Is it the machochsitic streak in us, to experience the terrible onslaught of fear and uncertainity that gives us our ultimate thrill? No wonder we love to repeat the horrors of history. Repeat the experience of war, riots and destruction. This gives us our orgasmic thrill and the reason d'etre. After all we have practiced on the Roller coaster in all those Sweet Summer Afternoons.

The Glory to come

I ignore the writing on the wall, and i continue mowing down the garden and cutting down the trees. We want to clear the landscape for a brand new parking lot for automobiles. Solving the parking problems is a top priority for the city. I have built so many malls & apartment complexes on the debris of the trees and greens. The city is going to reward and honour me for enhancing the architectural landscape of the city. But tonight, as i gaze up, there are no stars in the sky. Gloomy clouds circle the invisible moon. Funnily it doesn't rain. Its humid and balmy. Hot breeeze blows over. Wonder what's wrong with the weather? I blame it on the global warming and climate change. All due to the heavy Brazilian de-forestation and cars spewing carbon dioxide and pollutants in the atmosphere. The nations of the World need to act quick. Before its too late. I still have one more garden to ravage before dinner. By the way, Thank you for the medals and the glory. I look up, and there are still no stars in the sky.

Nothing Planned

We are just a car crash, a diagnosis, an unexpected phone call, a new found love or a broken heart away from becoming a completely different person. How beautifully fragile are we that so many things can take a moment to alter, Who we are for forever?

My Frankenstien

Larger than life, was my dream. A vision so vast, it ridiculed me. I was the creator of this Frankenstein and it threatened to submerge, in its shallow grandiose. I saw through the plot very early, and side stepped the temptation of getting sucked in. Why did i dream this nightmare? The only escape is for me to destroy it. The Creator has to be the slayer, the Doctor has to be the grave digger. Slowly and subtly i make the vision disappear into the dusty haze of nothingness. Now i can breathe again. I dare not, however, go back to sleep. For i shall dream again.

Today The Snow by Alan Baker

Today the snow, and tonight it lies on my car, and on all the roads that she must go. To be in a warm hotel in midwinter, isn't that enough comfort? Today the snow, tomorrow I will save you from the rest of your life, or is it mine? I would like to help someone to live after my death - eyes, liver, kidneys, pancreas left on the fields of morning while I'm in a dreamless sleep. What could be more idyllic than an exhibitionof the latest luggage? Are your shoes clean, young man? One believes so. And who are we? To argue, that is. I earn a living, recount colourful episodes from my past, swell my feet on crystals of white. Isn't that enough? But no. 'Our researches must continue' and there are language courses yet to be complete. The latest adult films to be watched. Slide softly into the bed of white. Protect the night, snow, and don't allow yourself to be fooled.
